Sigur Rios
It has been my experience that music jumps past the head and into the heart and soul of a person. Passion and emotion can be awakened through a sense that is a complete mystery. How is it that certain sounds put together take me to a place of joy or a place of depression.
A few months ago a friend told me they heard about this great group Sigur Rios that had a sound that could be used in a powerpoint. I took my $1 to I-tunes and gave the song Glosoli a whirl. My spirit quickly went on a journey as this group from Iceland sang words I don’t understand to a marching drum rhythm that came across soft and soothing.
At the time I was making a power point on trees so I quickly plugged the song in and I encountered God in my soul.
If you haven’t heard of them yet I’d encourage you to explore Sigur Rios. Take a song or two and go away by yourself and search for God. Draw near to him and let him draw near to you.
