Surprise
Growing up my mom always plotted surprises for me. I have inherited the excitement for a good a surprise. I rather plot and plan one then recieve one. This has carried over into my marriage. I surprised her in France while she was studing and asked her to be my wife for life, I had some furniture painted while we were in Honduras on medical mission trip, and I have bought her lots of little gifts that she didn’t see coming. Today’s surprise has been a little stressful but I pulled it off. She has a very good friend from Michigan who she rarely gets to see. Over the past two weeks I have worked it out to fly her to Iowa and stay with us for a few days. Though there was stress from replanning Jenny’s schedule without her knowing it was worth it. She stood at the top of the stairs and looked down and just melted when she saw her friend. I love the surprise!

Hey Marty, i’m totally with you on that one. i love planning surprises more than receiving them. There’s something about plotting and shocking i think… though i think i need to do it more often, thanks for the reminder of the beauty in it!
