Little Miss Sunshine

My wife and I recently watched the movie “Little Miss Sunshine” upon the common recomendation of its got some bad language but its pretty funny.  Here are a few things I observed.

Tension & Anger:  There was ton of it in the movie and it surrounded the following life areas; lack of money, failure, loss of love, car troubles, loss of direction, regret, health/physical limitations, outer image, and family.

Joy:  Less prevelant but obseved or experienced in the following; ice cream, dancing, family, odd circumstances with a vehicle, breaking the rules, and sticking up for each other.

Power of a Hug:  This was by far the most compelling part of the movie for me.  Hugs offered healing, comfort, hope, and love throughout the movie.  They were expressed when Mom hugs her brother, daughter hugs her mom, sister hugs her brother, and grandpa holds dads hand.

What did you think of the movie?

i thought LMS was fantastic! it was funny and raw (two things i very much like), and was well worth the watch. i don’t think it had AS strong of a central theme as some of my other favorites (like Love Actually or The Last Kiss, for example), but still a very fine film. did you enjoy it??
