The Obama Boys

Quick Disclaimer - I love the idea of voting, campaigning, the West Wing, and world affairs.  I am not a fan of governmental politics that lead to nothing and individual party’s.

A couple weeks ago Barack Obama was in Ottumwa, IA and knowing that there would be a lot of people there I thought I would go check it out.  I sat in between two World War II vets who shared that they hadn’t been this excited since JFK.  Overall it was quite an enjoyable event and what I liked most was hearing him talk about his upbringing and the work he did in Chicago.

Just a few days later I was at the Ottumwa Mission Outreach Center and discussing the Homeless Shelter we hope to start building in the next couple months.  While there a guy by the name of Tyler shows up and introduces himself and says he works for Barack Obama.  He is only staying in Ottumwa until January but wanted to help if he could.

I decided to go visit Tyler and see if he plays Tennis or basketball but he wasn’t there.  Chris and Conner (who looks like Roger Federer) were there who also are working on the Obama campaign were there.  We struck up a conversation and had connections to both Minnesota and Michigan.

Yesterday I invited the three of them over for dinner.  So tonight the Obama boys and I will be enjoying my wife’s taco’s and I look forward to understanding a little bit more as to why these guys would quit going to school for a semester to work for someone they have only met a couple of times.
