What is up with the fires?
This afternoon we were working on the yard. Toby was using a broom to rake leaves, Lydia was chillin in her super saucer, I was moving some bricks, and Jenny was winterizing the roses. We started to hear some yelling behind our house. Something like, “GET THE DOG!” which isn’t all that unusual to hear in this town of pets. I wonder what the pet to person ratio is. It has to be close. Just a minute later we hear the fire truck cruising down the street (another normal occurrence for us) and Toby was pretty jazzed about that. Then we notice the truck parks two houses away. Then we notice the black smoke kicking out of the neighbors house. This is one of the few neighbors we haven’t met yet. It was an electrical fire that was contained to one half of the house. I hope to follow up with the family tomorrow.
This fire comes after a week in which I found myself watching a lot of news to get info on the California Fires and a month after our Missionary friend in Cambodia (Molly) e-mailed us letting us know her family’s home burned down in Northern Iowa. Which leads me to pondering the question - What is up with all of these fires?

Last night I learned of the fire in South Carolina.
Today - Des Moines had a chemical plant explosion that has been on fire for the past few hours. It has shut down both I80 and I35.
Is it always like this and I’m just now recognizing all of the fires?
