Homeless Shelter (part 1)
Today Pauline (the director of the Ottumwa Outreach Center) and I decided to begin construction on the homeless shelter. The entire scope of the project is grand but quite conquerable. We are hoping to do 1/2 of the work via donations and volunteer labor.
The newspaper recently ran an article about the possibility of construction starting soon and volunteers have been calling in as well as the donations. Today we had someone donate all of the tile that will be used in the upstairs.
This afternoon I mew with Dave Hopkins who will be helping lead the charge with this project over the winter. We have a long ways to go but things are now in motion.
